Our #StandWithGaza Workplace Day of Action for Palestine on Wednesday saw an unprecedented level of activity across the country with walkouts, protests, meetings, workshops, cake sales and more showing solidarity with the Palestinian people. Thousands of people joined actions in hundreds of workplaces as the push to take the struggle for freedom and justice for Palestine into the workplace witnessed a substantial escalation. This was a significant step forward to building an anti-imperialist movement in the unions and workplaces. You can read the full report here.

We’ll be continuing to deepen the movement within the workplace in the coming weeks and months starting with our Trade Union Conference on 2 March. Trade unionists from across the UK will be coming together to discuss the issues and their experiences on how they have built pro-Palestine initiatives. Get your branch to support and send a delegation.

Speakers include Daniel Kebede (NEU Gen Sec), Libby Nolan (Unison President), Ian Hodson (BFAWU President), Andrew Feinstein (Shadow World), Sean Vernell (UCU Exec), Mohammed Shafiq (Chair of PCS Black Members Committee) and Andrew Murray (StWC Vice President).

If you want to help us build our Trade Union Conference within your union or workplace join us on Thursday (15 Feb) evening at 6pm for a meeting to discuss initiatives and ideas to do so. Register here.

Hope to see you at both. Details of the TU Bloc on Saturday’s demo and our next Workplace Day of Action will be sent out later this week. Keep your eyes peeled for those.

In solidarity,

Mayer (StWC Office)
