Military expenditure is off the Richter scale

Stop the War Coalition

As the slaughter of innocents in Gaza continues and a resurgent NATO escalates tensions around the globe, military expenditure is off the Richter scale.

Global defence spending increased by 9% to a record $2.2tn during 2023. The UK’s defence secretary has called for the UK to up its military spend to at least 3% of GDP and has even said the budget should rise by as much as 50% in response to the invasion of Ukraine and Israel’s war in Gaza. Yet there’s no money for decent homes, our crumbling schools or an NHS in crisis.

Irish MEP, Clare Daly, is clear. There has never been a more important or necessary time for people to join the Stop the War Coalition.

Watch her message of support and please, join us today. It costs as little as £3 per month to become part of a mass anti-war movement.
