LAW not War is a ‘smart coalition’ and campaign promoting the role of the International Court of Justice as the world’s primary judicial body, established as part of the United Nations to resolve international disputes in just and peaceful ways and to build compliance with the rule of law between nations.

LAW not War events and advocacy in New York, the Hague, Geneva and around the world during 2024 have already raised considerable attention to the role of the ICJ and the value of enhancing its jurisdiction.

LAW not War was established by World Federalist Movement-Institute for Global Policy (WFM-IGP) and other founding partners of UNFOLD ZERO, in cooperation with Citizens for Global Solutions. LAW not War updates are included in the UNFOLD ZERO E-News.

The project has attracted some seed funding from Global Challenges Foundation (for program work for a year). Your support could help us maintain and expand LAW not War advocacy in order to help prevent war, resolve conflicts peacefully and strengthen the rule of international law. MEGA is a smart coalition and platform to support the strengthening of environmental governance mechanisms. This includes governance proposals and campaigns that are representative/legislative in nature such as a UN Parliamentary Assemblyadministrative such as a UN Envoy for Future Generations or a Global Environment Agency, or judicial such as an International Court for the Environment.

Already political traction has developed on some of these. In October, 2024, for example, the UN announced that the Secretary-General would establish a UN Envoy for Future Generations, one of the proposals in MEGA.

Another of the MEGA proposals – for a Declaration of Planetary Emergency at the UN General Assembly and the Convening of a Planetary Emergency Platform, gained widespread support from States parties participating in the UN Summit of the Future, and could become a reality with additional support.

Watch this dynamic 6-minute introduction to MEGA narrated by Mary Robinson, Chair of the Climate Governance Commission and former President of Ireland.MEGA is co-hosted by WFM-IGP (a co-founding partner of UNFOLD ZERO) and the Climate Governance Commission. It is cosponsored by 28 other organizations, with an additional 80 participating organizations (see About MEGA).

We encourage you to:
