Path of MADness

Event Date: 26th January 2025
Location: Greenham Common at 11am on Sunday 26th January.

Dear Peace Group supporter,
If you can’t get to USAF Fairford on Saturday 25th, perhaps you could get to Greenham Common on Sunday 26th? Daniel Scharf, one of our members, organises a very moving ceremony every year on or near Holocaust Memorial Day, to acknowledge the holocaust that would surely ensue if ever nuclear weapons were used, whether by design or accident. Usually it is at the museum at Upper Heyford airbase but that is not possible this year. Here’s his email just received:

Dear all,
We have just been told that Upper Heyford is not available for the Path of MADness this year hence the short notice that we will be starting at the control tower at Greenham Common at 11am on Sunday 26th January. We will be reflecting on crimes against humanity, war crimes, genocides, ecocide, and climate change as an example of Mutually Assured Destruction. Bring suitable readings, poems, songs, refreshments and walking shoes. We will walk to the GAMA (cruise missile area) and to the memorial garden. The whole event takes about 2hrs. No booking required but look for the HMD/Path of MADness banner. Telephone for info or messages 07949159430

Please pass on to members and contacts

Daniel
