The climate emergency demands urgent action, and the way we heat and power our homes is a critical part of the solution. Retrofitting—upgrading and improving existing homes—can lower energy bills, create warm and comfortable homes, reduce carbon emissions, and generate secure, high-skilled green jobs.
Yet, despite the clear benefits, retrofitting is being held back by weak regulation, short-term thinking, and a failure to put residents at the heart of the process. That’s why Fuel Poverty Action, ACORN, Greener Jobs Alliance, Medact, and the Peace & Justice Project have joined forces to launch the Retrofit For The Future campaign.
We’re inviting you to join us at our online campaign launch on Wednesday, 19th March at 7.30pm, to hear from the groups leading this movement and find out how you can get involved.

At the launch, we’ll discuss our demands:
Putting residents at the heart of retrofit – from planning to delivery, with robust protections against displacement and rising rents.
Ensuring high-quality, accountable retrofit work – with independent assessment, strong regulations, and full transparency on impact.
Building a well-trained workforce for the future – creating secure, skilled jobs that contribute to a greener, fairer economy.
Protections for renters - with legislation to ensure that landlords can’t evict tenants or increase rent following retrofit work
If the government is serious about tackling the housing and climate crises, we need bold action and investment.
This is a critical moment to push for change. Join us at the launch and be part of the fight for warmer homes, lower bills, and a future that works for everyone.
In solidarity,
Peace & Justice Project
