Event Date: 4th July 2025
Location: Kettlesing Village Hall (near Menwith Hill) and then to the new main gate
Please keep 4th July 2025 free for the Independence from America event at Menwith Hill.
The format is slightly different this year. See the attached poster for timings.
We’re meeting at Kettlesing Village Hall (near Menwith Hill) for an introduction to the base by Dave Webb, then moving up to the new main gate to read the Declaration of Independence and hand over a letter to the base commander.
Returning to Kettlesing Village Hall, we’re looking forward to welcoming Lynda Williams aka Lynda Lovon – a physicist, activist, and cabaret artist from Hawai‘i, bringing her one-woman science-political show Atomic Cabaret to venues across the UK this summer. Blending science, satire and song, the show confronts the existential threat of nuclear weapons — from Trinity to Trident — and commemorates the 80th anniversary of the U.S. bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
For detailed information about the show and tour, please see the attached press release.
There will also be a speaker from Pembrokeshire, from PARC Against DARC; messages from campaigners against the US spy bases at Waihopai, New Zealand, and at Pine Gap, Australia; music from The East Lancs Clarion Choir and the Satirical Cowboys; and food and refreshments.
Please publicise the event widely. We look forward to seeing you there. Contact us on [email protected] for more information about any event.
