NWMO floats trial balloon before impact assessment of nuclear waste burial scheme begins
The Nuclear Waste Management Organization is floating a trial balloon version of the Initial Project Description they are expected to file later this year for their “Adaptive Phased Management Project” to transport, process, bury and abandon all of Canada’s high-level nuclear fuel waste at the Revell site in the heart of Treaty 3 territory in northwestern Ontario.
Blurring the lines between their own “feedback” period and the comment period that the Impact Assessment Agency will hold on the NWMO’s eventual and actual Initial Project Description, the NWMO is holding a short series of 2 hour sessions in Ignace (July 24 & 25) and Dryden (August 12 & 13) and two online sessions on August 6th at 10:30 am and 6 pm eastern.
Join We the Nuclear Free North for a one-hour conversation on Tuesday, August 5th.
