CND Southern Region meeting (CANCELLED due to Coronavirus situation)

It is Oxford’s turn to host the annual Southern Region CND Meeting this year.

12.00 – 4.00pm.

There is parking at the Centre, and it is 400 yards from Oxford Railway Station.

The A34 junction for the Botley Road is the A420 / A34 junction.

There is a café at the Centre, but people are welcome to bring their own lunches.  The guest speaker will be John Gittings and the title of his talk will be “Peace in an Age of Crises”.


John Gittings is a peace historian who was for many years foreign leader-writer and East Asia editor at The Guardian. He was active in the early years of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and helped edit the Oxford International Encyclopedia of Peace (2010). His latest book is The Glorious Art of Peace: Paths to Peace in a New Age of War (OUP).

He has also written extensively on cold war politics and is a research associate at SOAS Centre for Chinese Studies.
