Facial Recognition Consultation

Event Date: 28th January 2026
Location: Online, 6.30pm - 7.30pm

I’m Charlie and I work in the Policy team at Liberty.

I emailed you in December regarding the Home Office launching a public consultation on the use of facial recognition technology. The deadline to take part in the consultation is Thursday 12 February 2026.

This is our opportunity to have our say on a new framework to govern the use of this technology, to put limits on its use and safeguards to protect us all. This will be the first dedicated law on facial recognition in this country. We need to make sure it is as strong as possible.

If you’re interested in hearing more about the consultation and how to take part, then join our Liberty event where I will talk through the details of the consultation and how we can ensure we have our say!

Date: Wednesday 28 January 2026

Time: 6.30pm – 7.30pm

Location: Online, Zoom (a link will be sent closer to the time)

I WANT TO ATTEND THE EVENT! →

I look forward to seeing you there.

Thank you,

Charlie Whelton
