FAIRFORD ACTION

Name  the Dead at Fairford US base: Saturday 21 March (12.30 pm – 1.30pm)

Fairford Action:  Join Drone Wars, CND and Oxfordshire Peace Campaign at the Fairford US air base to say no to war

As the US and Israel’s brutal attacks on Iran continue, the number of innocent civilians killed as a result of the conflict is creeping up. US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has said there will be no “stupid rules of engagement” to protect civilians and Donald Trump has joked about attacking civilian oil infrastructure targets “for fun”. Israel’s blatant disregard for civilian deaths has killed many thousands in Palestine since the Gaza war started in 2023.

US aircraft are now flying on daily strikes from Fairford airbase, where 18 heavy bombers are currently based.

The UK government has made the ludicrous claim that the bombers will only be involved in “defensive” missions, even though the US and Israel are illegal aggressors conducting offensive strikes. The UK has no way of controlling, or even knowing, the targets that US aircraft at Fairford are attacking.

By far the most shocking attack to date in this shocking war is the US cruise missile attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ elementary school in Minab on 28 February, which killed 175 children, the vast majority of whom were school children.

In contrast to US military personnel who have been killed in the war, the UK government and mainstream media have made virtually no effort to remember the dead children, humanise them, or respect their memories.

Join us at Fairford to remember the civilian dead of Trump’s war and read the names of some of those killed in the Minab school attackNaming of the Dead ceremony at Fairford base on Saturday 21 March:
