Invitation:  People’s Emergency Briefing screening, Thursday 10 September, 7pm

Dear Faringdon Peace Group/Mustard Seed/Farcycles/Folly Tower Trustees,

We are writing to invite you to the Faringdon screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing film on the risks to British life from ongoing damage to nature and to our climate. This screening is supported by Faringdon Town Council and Churches Together in Faringdon. Admission is by free ticket booked in advance.

Location: Corn Exchange, Faringdon
Date: 10th Sept 2026. Time: 7.00 pm.

The film presents evidence from leading UK experts on climate science, food security, health and economic stability from last November’s National Emergency Briefing to MPs and members of the House of Lords. It presents a clear, measured overview of how the climate and nature crisis is affecting everyday life in Britain – and what the evidence says about risks and responses.

Following the film, we will host a structured discussion on what this means for us all, facilitated by members of the Climate Psychology Alliance.

The NEB initiative is explicitly non-partisan and has support from a wide range of organisations including the National Trust, the Church of England, Exeter University, the Royal Meteorological Society, WWF, National Education Union, and many more. Its purpose is to support informed democratic discussion and ensure that Parliament and the public share a common understanding of the scale and urgency of the challenge.

As Faringdon Peace Group/Mustard Seed/Farcycles/Folly Tower Trustees is a valued part of our community, we would be very grateful if you could inform your members about this screening and encourage them to book a ticket and attend.

With best wishes,

Alan Ford                    T Gerry

Cllr Alan Ford                                                 Tim Gerry
