Nov. 1-7: GLOBAL RESISTANCE WEEK to Stop U.S. Imperialism & Genocide!
Dear GWUAN friends,
I have only been very peripherally following this group, but would like to get more connected.
I deeply appreciate the work you all have done and will definitely watch the video of your recent Oct. mtg.
We are in the early fledgling stages of trying to build a global coalition focused on organizing ongoing simultaneous global actions targeting the “drivers” of war & genocide: military bases, weapons makers, weapons shipping ports, AI Data Centers, etc. The emphasis will be on collaborative direct action and educating the “worker bees” who support these “war & genocide driving institutions” and to encourage them to withdraw in their complicity. I know this sounds like a gargantuan task, but together, globally we can do it.
Our kick of week/first action week: Nov. 1-7: GlobalResistanceNow.org
So far, in just a handful of weeks of organizing, we have 11 US military base actions planned, including 7 US drone bases, a NM Data Center action (New Mexico) and numerous others. We strongly want international participation in Nov, and after Nov we hope to have a broad international participation in developing and leading the coalition: determining where it will go, what it will look like, how best we can collaborate? The goal is to build a united nonviolent global front that plans simultaneous actions on a regular basis, (quarterly, b-annually, monthly??)…..to grow to the point that the powers that be can no longer ignore us. This will take time for sure.
Are there any groups/individuals within GWUAN that can either help organize an action during the week of Nov. 1-7, and/or pledge to participate in the international collaborative planning work afterwards to help determine where we go after Nov. 1-7? An action in November can be as simple as gathering a small handful of folks to rally near the entrance to your nearest US/NATO base for 1-2 commute shift(s) (usually about 6:30-8:30am or 3:30-5:30pm).
