World Says No War on Yemen

This Thursday Stop the War is participating in an international zoom meeting calling for an end to the war on Yemen. 

 

The catastrophe caused by the war is deepening, largely unreported. Despite the desperate state of Yemen, Saudi Arabia has recently intensified its attacks. The majority of the population depends on aid and millions are suffering from an outbreak of cholera. The war has virtually destroyed all health facilities which means that no-one knows the impact of Covid on the country. As a spokesperson from the United Nations Development Programme said recently: “On top of everything that Yemen is experiencing, it can now also add the highest unofficial death rate to COVID-19 in the world.”

 

In these circumstances the continued support for the war from Britain and the US is utterly shameful. This meeting aims to take a first step towards building an international movement to stop the war.
