Preparing for a summer of resistance – join us on 22 June: news from the Peace Pledge Union
Peace Pledge Union
Everyday Militarism looks likely to be even more visible in the UK over the coming months. Armed Forces Day will be celebrated on 26th June, followed by arms fairs in Malvern, London and Farnborough between July and October: https://www.ppu.org.uk/events
Armed forces recruitment stands will return to the streets as Covid restrictions ease. Military spending is sharply rising and the proposed Police Bill threatens to suppress our freedom to protest about all this: https://www.ppu.org.uk/policebill
But wherever there is militarism, there will be resistance! The Peace Pledge Union is working alongside other groups to challenge war and militarism and to promote peace and active nonviolence.
So we are inviting you to the Peace Pledge Union’s next online event for members and supporters, which will be held next week: from 6.30 to 8.30pm on Tuesday 22nd June.
This will be the third in a series of events aimed at equipping ourselves and each other with skills and ideas for challenging everyday militarism and campaigning for change. Our aim is that this event will be helpful and relevant to you, whether or not you attended either of the first two events in March and April.
The event on 22nd June is free to attend but please register at https://www.ppu.org.uk/civicrm/event/info%3Fid%3D213%26reset%3D1
