Location: Internet 6:00pm GMT

IMPORTANT: CAAT Lobby Day Supporter Info!

Dear friends,

Firstly, thank you so much for deciding to reach out to your MP and take part in CAAT’s Lobby Day for Yemen on 10th March. Your time and energy for this are a crucial component in pushing for the UK to take action towards ending this devastating war, and highlighting the role UK arms exports have played in this conflict.

A few key resources below:
  1. Firstly, CAAT will hold a zoom pre-lobby day briefing on next Monday 7th March at 6 pm! We will go over the speaking notes, give tips, and answer your questions. You can join on this zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84860867460
  2. We have published a Supporter Pack for the Lobby Day with speaking notes andasks for your MP. This should answer lots of your questions ahead of 10th March!
  3. We have also published a detailed briefing on Yemen and the UK arms trade, ‘Seven Years of War‘ which you can share with your MP and read for more information on ahead of your meeting.
Action for you to take!
  1. Please fill in this online Response Form to let us know if your MP has responded to your request for a meeting either positively or negatively, or not at all.
  2. - If they have not responded at all I can help you chase them.
  3. - If they have responded but not offered a meeting please note this in the form.
  4. - I will be following up in the next couple of weeks to all CAAT supporters with a templet letter to MPs with actions they can take in parliament ahead of the anniversary of the war in Yemen on 26th March. Keep an eye on your emails!
If you have any questions I should be able to answer most of your emails this week – otherwise I’ll see you on Monday!

Again, thank you very much to so many of you for offering your time and energy to raise this issue with your representatives, and most importantly for standing in solidarity with the people of Yemen.

With best wishes,
Katie

CAAT was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize alongside Mwatana for Human Rights, a grassroots organisation working in Yemen. CAAT’s nomination aims to draw attention to work to stop the UK government’s sales of arms to Saudi Arabia, particularly our ongoing court case to challenge the UK government’s decision to resume arms sales to the Saudi regime for use in the war in Yemen.
