Event Date: 1st August 2022
Location: On the roundabout by Hinkley Point C 10:00 - 2:00pm BST
Hinkley B will stop generating electricity on 1st August 2022. There will be no electricity from nuclear generated in the South West of England for at least 5 years or longer if it does not come on stream from Hinkley C, currently predicted as summer 2027.
Please join Stop Hinkley at Hinkley Point on Monday 1st August for a celebration of the closure of Hinkley B. There will be banter, with like-minded people, banners and waste barrels to wear for a photo for posterity!
We will be there from 10am until 2pm, on the roundabout by HPC. This location means all traffic going to the B station has to pass our protest.
We will be highlighting the nuclear waste legacy of HPB. We know that EdeF have invited the media to HPB on the day so our event will be a more interesting diversion!
Speakers to be arranged.
