Save the date: Nakba ‘75 demonstration, Saturday 13 May
On Saturday, 13 May we will commeomorate of the 75th anniversary of the Nakba – or Catastrophe – when over 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly removed from over 500 villages and cities in historic Palestine. Last year saw the worst levels of violence and Palestinian deaths in the region for two decades. With this violence continuing, voices for peace and justice are needed more than ever.
Israel also continues to pose a serious danger to the wider region by being its sole nuclear weapons state. CND pays tribute to Israeli whistle-blower and former nuclear technician Mordechai Vanunu – who remains under house arrest for exposing the truth about Israel’s nuclear weapons. The British government remains silent on Israel’s semi-clandestine nuclear status in the same way it remains silent about Palestinian human rights.
CND is calling on supporters to gather in London to mark the Nakba and to call for an end to Israel’s nuclear arsenal and human rights abuses.
Organised by: Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Palestinian Forum in Britain, Stop the War Coalition, Friends of Al- Aqsa, Muslim Association of Britain, and CND.
