In the next few days the terrible violence in the Middle East will only intensify. Victims on both sides have already exceeded 3000. Now, no one is being allowed to leave the Gaza Strip as it is starved of food, water and electricity and brutally bombarded. Israeli forces are massing on its borders, apparently preparing to invade the territory. As well as bringing terror to the people of Gaza, such an action risks sparking a wider war.

This conflict will only be resolved when the Palestinians achieve freedom and their persecution is ended.

Last night thousands protested outside the Israeli Embassy in London demanding freedom for Palestine in a show of concern reported on the national news.

We urge you to promote the event on social media, to poster for it, to get delegations from your workplace, to organise street stalls to publicise it and to try and put on local transport to get people to London.

We encourage trade unionists to bring their banners on the march.

The British government is one of the most enthusiastic backers of the Israeli government . That is why it is so important that there is a massive show of support for the Palestinians in London on Saturday.
