Ensuring Gaza Is on the Ballot Paper

The abysmal situation in Rafah is galvanising the extraordinary movement for Palestine once again. With a huge emergency demo in London on Tuesday and many events up and down the country it’s clear that this movement is here to stay and no one is giving up on the Palestinian cause.

Stop the War groups and activists have been centrally involved in these and in building for the next national demo on June 8th. Sunak and Starmer don’t want us to talk about Palestine, but with the increased interest of an election period we have to ensure that Palestine and foreign policy are central to discussion about politics. We must continue to do all we can to build these demonstrations and in doing so ensure that the issue of the Gaza genocide is very much on the ballot paper come Thursday 4th July.

UK arms sales to Israel, the continuing war in Ukraine, the drive for more military spending, and the increasingly dangerous world we live in must all be central to the campaign. Solidarity with Gaza is key to defeating the warmongers’ agenda. Stop the War is clear, we will support candidates who are prepared to make it so – no ceasefire, no vote. Make sure you’re on the streets to demand exactly that.
