Event Date: 29th June 2024
Location: Nationwide
Now’s the time to ramp up our campaigning. On Saturday (29 June), we’re leading protests at dozens of Barclays branches across Britain. Will you join your local action?
Barclays CEO is trying to deceive the public. Let’s focus on the facts. Our research has uncovered that Barclays invests over £2billion in, and provides £6.1billion of financial services to, arms companies supplying Israel with the weapons it uses in its devastating attacks on Palestinians.
This includes financing General Dynamics, which produces bombs used by Israel in its assault on Gaza. As well as Elbit Systems, which supplies armoured drones and artillery weapons to Israel.
Barclays chief executive is desperately trying to deflect from the fact that Barclays is fast becoming a toxic brand. People of conscience want nothing to do with a bank financing genocide. You can watch our full rebuttal of the CEO’s comments here.
We need to send him a clear message: we’re not going away, we’ll keep taking action until Barclays divests from Israeli apartheid.
As well as our day of action this Saturday, we’re also going to be protesting on the opening day of Wimbledon, which Barclays is sponsoring. Join us on Monday 1 July to make sure that Barclays can’t use tennis to hide its grave complicity in Israel’s war crimes.
In solidarity,
Lewis
