As Israel intensifies its attacks against Palestinians, as well as across the wider region, we must continue to escalate our campaign targeting Barclays, which provides billions worth of financing to companies arming Israel’s genocide.
In a bid to deceive the many thousands who are boycotting the bank, Barclays is attempting to buy Tesco Bank and operate under the Tesco branding.
Can you join us outside the court hearing in London this Thursday 17 October to call on the High Court to block the sale?
Join the protest on Thurs 17 OctoberOver the past month, thousands of you have sent letters to the court to object to the sale. We’ll be ensuring your voice is heard loud and clear at the hearing.
If the court does approve the sale, we’ll be calling on Tesco Bank customers to shut their accounts as part of our call to boycott Barclays. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on whether the sale proceeds.
If you’re still a Barclays customer, pledge to close your bank account on our next mass account closure day on Thursday 21 November. We’ll send you all the information you need to close your account and make a meaningful difference. It’s simple and easy to do, with over 4000 people making the switch so far this year.
Pledge to close your Barclays accountBarclays is continuing to feel the pressure from our campaigning. Last week, it was revealed that the bank won’t be returning as a sponsor of The Great Escape music festival next year – after hundreds of bands and artists of conscience refused to perform at the festival this year.
The bank is also facing protests around its sponsorship of the Sadler’s Wells performing arts theatre in London.
Over 1,200 artists, culture workers and audience members, including Maxine Peake and Juliet Stevenson, alongside Sadler’s Wells own associate artists, have signed an open letter calling on the theatre to end its ties to Barclays.
Help amplify the culture workers speaking out by watching and sharing the video below featuring prominent artists and campaigners.

In solidarity,
