21st National March since October 2023.

Event Date: 2nd November 2024
Location: London, from Whitehall to the US Embassy 12 noon

Next Saturday, 2 November, we are marching from Whitehall to the US Embassy for our 21st National Demonstration for Palestine. Will you join us at 12noon in London to demand that the government takes action and stops arming Israel?

The British government remains deeply complicit in Israel’s escalating violence. The demonstration next Saturday marks the anniversary of the infamous 1917 Balfour Declaration – a disgraceful act of British imperialism in which the then Foreign Secretary, Arthur Balfour, promised the land of Palestine to the Zionist movement. It paved the way for settler colonisation and the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948, which saw the ethnic cleansing of 750,000 Palestinian people from their homeland and the imposition of a system of apartheid upon all Palestinians.

For over 100 years, Britain has been complicit in the oppression of Palestinians. Next Saturday we will march from the Foreign Office on Whitehall to the US Embassy – Israel’s main backer today. Coming just days before the US election, we have chosen this route to highlight the shameful truth that although the seat of imperial power might have changed, the colonial logic remains the same – Palestinian lives do not matter and their rights can be ignored.

Through our mass mobilisations we can challenge this racist narrative and maintain pressure on the government. This week over 43,000 of you have already emailed Keir Starmer to demand he takes immediate action to halt Israel’s liquidation of the north of Gaza – will you write to him today?

We need as many people as possible out on the streets of London on Saturday 2 November to demand an immediate arms embargo, sanctions on Israel, and an end to Britain’s historic and ongoing complicity in Israel’s genocide. Please share widely.
