The Pentagon's confirmation of weapons in space

Posted: 20th September 2026

This is an important addition to the Golden Dome discussion. The Pentagon has now publicly confirmed that the United States has active “space-control weapons” in orbit, while refusing to disclose what they are or how they operate. Analysts suspect non-kinetic systems—such as jammers or maneuverable “inspector” satellites—but nobody outside the Pentagon actually knows.

Here in New Mexico, state and local autocrats have enabled another part of this expanding weapons infrastructure. Project Ranger will manufacture and test hypersonic missile systems on the West Mesa, where construction has bulldozed fragile habitat and disturbed an aquifer-recharge area—all without a formal environmental review or a legally noticed public hearing at which affected communities could question the project.

Whether Project Ranger ultimately receives a formally identified Golden Dome role remains undisclosed. But it belongs to the same accelerating missile-and-space weapons buildup: weapons and factories are deployed first, while environmental protection, democratic participation, public accountability and international safeguards are pushed aside.
