Yesterday morning, nine people launched the next wave of the resistance against Elbit Systems in Britain. We are Silence Elbit Drones, a direct action movement to drive Elbit out of Britain for good.
Over the last six years, we have seen unprecedented direct action for our Palestinian brothers and sisters, here in Britain. Multiple Elbit sites have been closed, countless ties cut and key contracts lost: action has been, and must remain, relentless. One heroic action that saw the destruction of 40 drones in twenty minutes at their Filton site, and was so effective the state tried and failed to make an example of Sam, Ellie, Fatema Zainab and Lottie. As Ellie was being sentenced she announced: “In order to hear the birds, the drones must be silent”.
Join us at 7pm tomorrow night, to join us in mass direct action against Elbit Systems.
Those words, which were adapted from a poem by the Palestinian author Marwan Makhoul, and were read as their unprecedented sentences were handed down.
Elbit Systems is our target, because it manufactures 85% of Israel’s military drone fleet. Engines to power Israel’s killer drones are made by Elbit in Staffordshire. Drones used to commit genocide are made by Elbit in Leicester. New killer drones for the Israeli military are developed by Elbit in Filton, before they’re first “battle-tested” on Palestinians. Israel’s killer drones are made and manufactured in Britain, and in order to silence Elbit drones in the skies above Gaza, we must shut Elbit down.
The same morning, the Israeli occupation murdered a child, woman and young man in Gaza. The soldiers of the barbaric occupation continue to hunt children for sport, all operationally supported by factories here on British soil. The necessity to take real, direct action has never been more urgent.
This time it was nine people, with 100 people we could just down Elbit for weeks on end, with 1,000 we could shut them down for good.
