Despite insistent warmongering peddled by the likes of Andy Burnham and Emmanuel Macron, European workers and citizens remain unconvinced of the necessity of exorbitant increases in military spending. When French students go to school in cramped classrooms, surrounded by rats and peeling paint, unlike NATO member-states, it’s not Russia they blame. It’s decades of austerity politics.

That’s why in schools across their country, French students are taking to the streets. We need money for welfare not endless warfare.
