Stop the War coalition: The government is preparing us for war. We must stop them.

Here and across Europe governments are banging the drums of war. 

“Britain is going to need you to fight,” said the UK’s army chief to soldiers on Friday.

According to defence secretary Wes Streeting, we must prepare for things to escalate very quickly if, for example, there was a miscalculation by Russia and NATO forces are hit by a rogue drone. 

A few days earlier Sir Ken McCallum, Director General of MI5, warned us that Iran may be preparing to hit targets in Britain. 

The government is preparing us for war. We must stop them. 

Ministers are asking the public to be more resilient and are diverting tens of billions of public money away from productive investment to pay for a massively increasing defence budget.

We are asked to sacrifice our young, stock-up on essentials and be willing to commit to ever greater arms spending to the detriment of health, education and housing. 

To counter their relentless war-propaganda must urgently build the anti-war movement.
