Support French Nuclear protestors

Posted: 21st May 2021

Dear all, As some of you may already know, there will be a big trial on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd June in Bar-le-Duc, in the East of France, where 7 opponents to the nuclear waste dump project “Cigéo” in Bure will be judged for an alleged “criminal association” and illegal protest. During more than two years, these people were forbidden to talk to each other and to go back to the place they wanted to protect from the building of this nuclear dump. What they actually did, was just being involved and active in a protest movement. By charging them, the authorities just want to discredit and paralyse the resistance against this nuclear dump project: these charges lead to surrealistic situations where people from the same organizations and collectives could not meet any more. This trial takes place in a context of growing repression against social movements in France. A big mobilisation will be organised to support them (more information there : https://bureburebure.info/123proces/) International support would be much appreciated too. Some German groups have already written the following text that you’ll find here under in different languages (FR, EN, DE, IT). If your organization wants to sign it too, it will be highly welcome. Just add its name on this pad: https://pad.riseup.net/p/laboumdesmalfrats Kind regards, Charlotte
