Salisbury CND made its contribution locally to the National CND bloc on the march under the slogan “Nurses not Nukes”.  For pictures of our event at Salisbury District Hospital, please see below.

National CND put out the following:

We just wanted to say thank you to all our supporters who made the Nurses not Nukes bloc on last Saturday’s People’s Assembly demonstration such a success.

But the demo is only the beginning of our campaign.

The Government is still going ahead with its nuclear warhead increase. But as CND’s recent legal opinion so clearly shows, this breaks international law.

It will also cost tens of billions of pounds – money that could be spent on the NHS. Last Saturday, we heard from nurses and other NHS workers. They told us they desperately need a decent pay rise and we need to support them.

The best way we can do that is stop the Government spending on nukes and make the NHS the priority. In the coming weeks we will be ramping up our Nurses not Nukes campaign - and we want you to be part of it.

It was difficult for many to get to London at the weekend. But you have done lots of amazing work around the country.

Find your local CND group

Bath CND and Salisbury CND were just two of the local groups out at the weekend, showing their support for Nurses not Nukes.
