International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons 26th September 2021 Aldermaston and Burghfield AWE

Southern region of CND took part in this day of action.  We targeted two key sites in our area, Aldermaston AWE and Burghfield AWE.  Below are pictures taken outside each establishment.  The stark contrast between the government’s reluctance to adequately fund the NHS, nurses’ pay, and the care sector, whilst profligately spending on nuclear weapons was highlighted.  The government seems content to fund both the replacement of Trident and no less than a 40% increase in our nuclear stockpile. The madness of these positions must surely become increasingly apparent to the general public.
