This government is fast-tracking legislation that’ll make you pay for EDF’s new nuclear reactor in Suffolk

This government is fast-tracking legislation that’ll make you pay for EDF’s new nuclear reactor in Suffolk.

The good news is that the committee of MPs appointed to examine the Nuclear Energy (Financing) Bill is asking for your views —but we have to be quick!

Can you take a moment today to tell the Committee why you don’t want to be forced to pay the ‘Sizewell Surcharge’ to subsidise new nuclear? We’ve given you all the information you need.

Say no to an energy bill surcharge to build new nuclear. Send an email today.

Energy bills are already rising, but new nuclear is just not a good deal, and power plants like Sizewell C won’t even generate any electricity for nearly 15 years —at least.

We know that there are more cost-effective alternatives in renewable energy that can be delivered at a fraction of the cost. If the government gave them the public support in the way it’s proposing for new nuclear, we’d see an energy revolution that’d be better for all of us, and our planet.

Two years ago, SumOfUs members like you helped drown out EDF’s corporate lobbyists to force the government to shelve such plans. Let’s do that again.

 EMAIL THE COMMITTEE

Thanks for all that you do,
Sondhya and the team at SumOfUs
