EDF: nuclear production falls to its 1991 level, three new reactors shut down. As part of its control program on the nuclear fleet linked to a corrosion problem, EDF lowers, for the second time in a month, its production forecasts. Three new reactors are shut down. In the meantime, in addition to the four reactors already concerned, EDF announced on Tuesday the shutdown for “checks” over the next few months of three additional nuclear reactors – Chinon 3, Cattenom 3 and Bugey 4. Three other reactors will also be object of inspection (Bugey 3, Flamanville 1 and 2), but during shutdowns which were already scheduled – which should limit the impact on production. The shutdown of Flamanville 2 will however be extended by 5 weeks.
