Articles & Action on Ukraine

 

Dear friends of the Peace Group, You may well have seen the attached articles already, but they are a welcome relief from the war-mongering that is in most newspapers now. They mostly came to me by email via MAW.

I also was sent an article on Twitter today , written by the executive secretary of the Ukrainian Pacifist Movement and first published by World Beyond War on 18th Feb: https://wri-irg.org/en/story/2022/will-truth-invade-ukraine  . A quotable quote from it is “War is always a choice, a wrong choice, and people of the world should raise voices against the wrong choice”.
 

The Forward Planning Group decided to gather at the War Memorial in Abingdon on Monday (28th) at 8.15am – 8.45am with banners and placards expressing our opposition to war, any war – I was asked to make a banner saying “Russia, Ukraine, NATO – STOP STOKING WAR” but you may have better suggestions for a banner. In Russia peace activists have been arrested during a demonstration against war in Ukraine, a brave act! Will you join us on Monday morning for a symbolic vigil?
