Message from National CND about Global Day of Action on Sunday

Hello CND groups. The announcement that the Russian nuclear forces have been put on “enhanced combat duty” underscores what we have said about the risk of nuclear war posed by the current conflict over Ukraine. Thankfully the online rally we jointly organised on Saturday showed there is tremendous demand for a peaceful resolution, with thousands watching live.

 It is crucial that we mobilise for Sunday’s global day of action to demand peace in Ukraine. None of you needs me to spell out the likely result of further belligerence.

Please arrange and get involved in actions in your area for Sunday (and tell us!). We’ll be part of the London demonstration but it is vital that we get our message out across the country.

An acquaintance quipped today that we will remember this conflict as we do the Cuban Missile Crisis — but only if we work to make sure that we can.
