We are a global movement, and we have achieved great things together. But as you will hear from me today, the risk of nuclear weapons use is on the rise and we urgently need to rally our governments to join the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

The European Union was founded on principles of democracy, human rights and collective security. It is time for us to demand that European governments reject weapons of mass destruction and lead the world towards nuclear disarmament.

Today, I will call on the European parliamentarians to stand up and demand that each EU government joins the Treaty on the Prohibition. Please join the conversation online by using the hashtag #NuclearBan and make sure you tell your elected leader the same.

Watch the live stream and help us increase the pressure on your government.

Beatrice
