Coulport is the weapon storage depot near Faslane in Scotland
A Russian state-owned oil tanker has been allowed to stay in Loch Long –
close to the Coulport nuclear armaments depot, the area’s MP revealed
today. Controversy has surrounded whether the NS Champion should be allowed
to dock at an oil terminal on Orkney, as Russia is hit by a wide range of
economic sanctions following its invasion of Ukraine. And today Argyll and
Bute MP Brendan O’Hara told the House of Commons that the 57,000-tonne NS
Century – also owned by the Russian state – is currently alongside at
the Finnart terminal at Loch Long, close to the Coulport nuclear armaments
depot.
