Tell Biden no nukes!

Just over a week ago Russian President Putin began an illegal and premeditated war of aggression on Ukraine, putting the Ukrainian people in harm’s way and forcing hundreds of thousands to flee their homes. He made thinly veiled threats about Russia’s nuclear weapons and has since then placed them on alert.

When asked if citizens should be concerned about nuclear war, President Biden said no, but we need real assurances from the White House! Call on Biden to keep nuclear weapons off the table!

Because the U.S. and Russia possess 90% of the world’s nuclear weapons, military escalation between the two countries comes with substantial risks for the entire world that a nuclear weapon could be used again, intentionally or by accident. Declaring that the U.S. will not use a nuclear weapon first will help to reduce the chances of mistakes or miscalculations!

There exists no plausible circumstance in which the first use of a nuclear weapon would be in the national security interests of the United States or its allies. The first use of nuclear weapons must be taken off the table and you can help us make that happen! Call on President Biden to state clearly and publicly, “nuclear weapons are off the table in Putin’s war with Ukraine.”
