Sunday’s day of action against the war in Ukraine saw thousands of people take to the streets around Britain calling for the withdrawal of Russian troops and no to NATO expansion. There were protests in more than fifty towns and cities across the country. Five thousand came on our march through London to an impressive rally in Trafalgar Square.
The horrors of the war in Ukraine continue. We need to step up our calls for an immediate Russian withdrawal and carry on campaigning against NATO expansion and arming of Ukraine, punitive sanctions which inflame the situation, and calls for no fly zones which would immediately escalate the war.
Stop the War and CND are calling for a further day of action against the war this Saturday 12 March. We are asking local groups to organise protests, vigils, public rallies and teach-ins. In general it is very important that local groups put on public meetings to put our case as strongly and clearly as possible.
In London, we are organising a teach-in in Central London from 2pm-5pm. More details to be announced very soon.
