As the Ukraine war enters its 6th week we are calling on the UK government to stop talking up war and give its support to a negotiated peace. Instead, with Labour’s full support, they bang the drums of war and call for an increase in military spending at the very time we face the biggest cost of living crisis in our lifetime.
The stakes are high and Ukrainians are paying the price in mounting casualties, but rather than push for a compromise solution Boris Johnson and his cabinet are pumping in more lethal weapons. This can only prolong the war. Without a negotiated settlement the war could last for years and thousands more lives will be lost.
Once again, France and Germany are attempting to engage with Russia, while the US and Britain accuses them of being too keen on seeking a deal and urge President Zelensky not to settle. As anti-war activists we must put pressure on our government to help end this war.
Sign our new petition calling on the British government to stop talking up war in Ukraine and give its support to a negotiated peace by backing the peace proposals now being discussed by Ukrainian President Zelensky and his Russian counterparts.
Stop the War AGM 2022 – Moving Online
Our AGM on Sat 23 April is moving online! The AGM is where the policy and priorities of the coalition are discussed and decided, and where our steering committee and officers are elected. All members are entitled and encouraged to attend. We hope that you will be able to join us and contribute to the discussions.
