New Boss of Civil Nuclear Police

Susan Johnson, OBE, has been appointed as Chair of the Civil Nuclear Police Authority (CNPA),

taking over from Sir Craig Mackey, QPM, who held the post of interim Chair
following the death of previous Chair Vic Emery in Dec 2021. Susan has held a
number of Non-Executive and Trustee roles in the private, public and
not-for-profit sectors and previously served as Chief Executive of County
Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service. Chief Constable Simon Chesterman
said: “I am delighted to welcome Susan to the role of CNPA Chair. She brings a
wealth of experience from across many different sectors and has already made an
impact on the authority. I look forward to working with her over the next three
years to ensure the CNC continue to deliver our nationally critical Mission and
keep the public safe.
