  • The Telegraph reports on the “breed of scrappy start-ups” challenging Rolls Royce in the rollout of new nuclear technology.

  • Scottish NFLA has spoken out against the siting of a nuclear reactor at the former refinery at Grangemouth operated by chemical firm Ineos.

Nuclear Energy

  • Reuters looks at how nuclear-reliant France is coping with fears of power outages after a strain on its power grid.

Fusion Energy

  • Associated Press has an explainer on nuclear fusion following the “major scientific breakthrough” at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

North Korea

  • Senior diplomats from the US, Japan, and South Korea met Tuesday to discuss responses to how North Korea uses cyber attacks to finance its nuclear programme.

  • South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has told Sky News that North Korea is “ready” to conduct a nuclear test and is poised to carry one out, but did not know when that would be.

  • Seoul has also called on China to actively support South Korean efforts for dialogue with North Korea.

  • Reuters looks at how North Korean hackers are trying to deceive foreign researchers into writing articles for them.
