TPNW Banniversary today some photos and articles to mark the occasion

Posted: 23rd January 2023

Dear TPNW campaigners,

Hope some of you have been able to celebrate the Banniversary today – 2 years since the  TPNW entered into full legal force.

Here are two relevant articles and two sunny photos from the small but effective action in Brighton WILPF – a walk with banners from TPNW-supporting Brighton and Hove Council’s Offices along the seafront to Hove’s Peace Statue.    It was cold but sunny, and we gave out a couple hundred leaflets on the way  — Not bad for a Sunday!  It would be great if Jenny could forward to you all the very good WILPF leaflet, which linked with WILPF’s campaigns on the Nuclear Ban Treaty, militarism and climate destruction.

On Friday 20th,  Rethinking Security published a ‘long read’  analysis/blog from me titled  Preventing Nuclear Use: A tale of two treaties

And today (22nd)  In Depth News/Interpress published an article they comissioned on the question ’Should South Korea go Nuclear’

I also saw there was a demo and bell ringing in Hackney and hope Paula will share the photo and video from those.

It would be really great for all of you who were able to mark the Banniversary to share your photos, leaflets and social media with the rest of us.

In peace,

Rebecca
