UNFOLD ZERO and
Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament (PNND) invite you to join the
PyeongChang Odae-San Peace (POP) online dialogues taking place from February 7-10, 2023.
The
POP Dialogues continue the ideas and initiatives for peace, diplomacy and sustainable development
launched at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games, and followed up annually through the
PyeongChang Peace Forums.
The
POP dialogues will comprise 7 panels over the 3 days.

February 7. 4pm-6pm Seoul Time / 8am – 10am Central Europe TimeThis session will explore the prospects of building common security and regional nuclear disarmament through a North-East Asian Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone based on the 3+3 Model.

Asia Consultation: UN Summit of the Future / Global Futures Forum
February 8: 8pm-10pm Seoul Time / 12noon-2pm Central Europe TimeThe United Nations General Assembly has decided to hold a
Summit of the Future in September 2024, preceded by a preparatory ministerial meeting in September 2023.
The Summit is tasked to adopt a
‘Pact for the Future. It is also likely to establish a
UN Special Envoy for Future Generations, and it could address other institutional reforms/initiatives. In addition, the UN Secretary-General is preparing a
New Agenda for Peace which will be released prior to the Summit.
The Coalition for the UN We Need (C4UN) is facilitating civil society input into the UN Summit and its preparatory process.This includes:
- A Global Futures Forum (GFF) on March 20-21
- Preparing a People’s Pact for the Future to be released in April 2023
- Organising a number of thematic and regional consultations for the GFF and Summit of the Future.
This panel serves as the
Asia regional consultation for the Global Futures Forum and Peoples Pact for the Future. Speakers include:
Beckie Malay from the Philippines,
Alyn Ware from New Zealand,
Nurgul from Kyrgyzstan,
Gopal from Nepal and
Hirotaka Koike from Japan.
There is also a
Pacific Region consultation on March 1.
