Recently, my colleague wrote to you to let you know about the Government’s horrific Illegal Migration Bill.1

It’s a cruel and unworkable piece of legislation that prevents people from appealing to human rights in asylum claims, based on how they came to the UK. Basically, it enables the Home Secretary Suella Braverman to commit human rights abuses with no consequences.

This dangerous bill would torment some of the most vulnerable people in our society and take away one of their only routes to get justice.

To get away with this, the Government is counting on people not knowing their rights, what they are and why they are so precious.

We need to make sure everyone – our family, friends and colleagues – know their rights so they can defend their rights.
