Commemorating 75 years of the Nakba
Next Saturday, 13 May, CND and other peace and civil society groups will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Nakba – or Catastrophe – when over 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly removed from over 500 villages and cities in historic Palestine.
Israel continues to pose a serious danger to the wider region by being its sole nuclear weapons state. CND pays tribute to Israeli whistle-blower and former nuclear technician Mordechai Vanunu – who remains under house arrest for exposing the truth about Israel’s nuclear weapons. The British government remains silent on Israel’s semi-clandestine nuclear status in the same way it remains silent about Palestinian human rights.
CND is calling on supporters to gather in London to mark the Nakba and to call for an end to Israel’s nuclear arsenal and human rights abuses.
