Nuclear power and harm to animals

Posted: 10th February 2020

An interesting booklet from Beyond Nuclear International explaining the harm done to animals, both wild and domestic, all along the nuclear supply chain.

They say:

This week our focus is on animals. We are seeing unprecedented rates of species extinction and we must step up and take responsibility for these human-caused impacts. It is essential, therefore, to eliminate any avoidable, additional stressors on animal populations. One of the culprits is nuclear power and its uranium fuel chain. Our new handbook looks at how nuclear power harms wild and domestic animals around the world. And we focus this week on one species threatened by uranium mines—tigers in India.
