Labour CND - Campaigning in the Labour Party for peace and nuclear disarmament

Posted: 26th March 2020

Like everyone else in this time of crisis, Labour CND has postponed all our in-person activities and we’re looking at ways to continue campaigning and meeting online. We’ll be in touch soon with some of them. Meanwhile, here are a couple of things you can do right now.

Successive UK National Security Risk Assessments have identified pandemics one of the top threats to Britain’s safety. Why then wasn’t the government prepared for Covid 19? And why are we spending £205 billion on Trident when the NHS is struggling to survive? Read CND’s blogg and let your MP know just what you think our priorities should be.

Labour CND wants to make sure the new Labour leadership retains the post of Shadow Minister for Peace and Disarmament, set up by Jeremy Corbyn and ably fulfilled by Fabian Hamilton MP. Help us lobby the candidates.

Our 2020 annual conference and AGM, due to take place 8 May is postponed. We’re preparing some online discussion sessions and investigating holding a virtual AGM.
