The threat to your rights and freedoms has been kicked up a notch.

Government ministers are now suggesting they may drag the UK out of the European Convention on Human Rights.

The Convention protects the basic human rights of every single person in the UK. It is vital we stand together to protect it. Sign our pledge now.

Politicians are trying to divide us.

Just this year, the Government has taken another devastating swing at the right to protest with its Public Order Act that gives police even more powers to shut down demonstrations and criminalise anyone standing up for what they believe in.

It has weakened the right to strike with the Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Act.

Its shamefully cruel Illegal Migration Act strips human rights away from refugees, migrants and survivors of human trafficking.

And now Government ministers are suggesting dragging us out of the European Convention on Human Rights so they can deport people to Rwanda – a country recognised by UK courts as being unsafe.

Either everyone has human rights, or no one does. The Convention protects every single person in the UK. The rights we’re all familiar with come from it. Pulling the UK out of the ECHR would allow the Government to commit human rights abuses against any one of us – and we wouldn’t be able to hold those responsible to account and get justice.

But we will not be divided. We will protect ourselves, our families, friends and communities, and everyone else from this reckless and desperate attempt to rip up fundamental rights for cheap political points.

We all want to live in a society where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The ECHR helps us towards this dream. Add your name to our pledge to reject divisive politics and protect UK membership of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Thank you for standing with us
