Don’t let the lessons of Hiroshima and Nagasaki be forgotten. Please donate to CND today.

You may have received my email last week, asking if you could make a donation to CND in memory of the victims of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Hundreds of people have already pledged their support, but we still need to raise around £6,500 if we’re to fund our major new campaigning plans for the autumn and help ensure the lessons of the bombings are not forgotten.

If you haven’t already, can you help with a donation today?

Later this year, we plan to launch a major new report on the true cost of replacing and upgrading the UK’s nuclear weapons system, Trident. This is vitally important, in light of the UK government’s announcement two years ago that the ceiling on its nuclear arsenal has been increased by a massive 40%.

We hope to have this report ready in time for the upcoming party conference season, to promote to MPs and party activists – to make clear to them just what the true costs of these terrible weapons is. The economic cost, but also the human cost, as Hiroshima and Nagasaki remind us all too clearly.

But we can’t do this without your help. Please, donate today, so together we can continue to campaign for nuclear disarmament and ensure the lessons of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are not forgotten.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, will make a big difference to our work, so please give if you can. And if you have donated already, thank you so much for your support.

In peace,

Kate Hudson

General Secretary
