War In Ukraine/NATO

  • The United States has approved sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine from Denmark and the Netherlands as soon as pilot training is completed.
  • Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has told an interview that Russia is not trying to push Belarus into its war in Ukraine but noted that Minsk will always help Russia.

AUKUS

  • Labor thrashes out its AUKUS position at party conference amid dissent (and approved by the Environment Agency but campaigners argue that these will impact the fish population.
  • BBC: Some of the UK’s oldest nuclear waste has been removed from its original storage facility at Sellafield in what has been described as a “momentous” step.

  • Workers have begun loading radioactive fuel into a second new nuclear reactor at Plant Vogtle in the US state of Georgia.

  • Chugoku Electric Power Co.  called on its mayor to submit the city’s name as a candidate site for final storage of nuclear waste.
