Japan completes first round of release of treated Fukushima wastewater

The release of the first round of treated radioactive water from Japan’s Fukushima nuclear power plant is complete. Local media NHK quoted TEPCO as saying there were no problems with equipment or procedures. TEPCO said it released 7,800 tonnes of treated water as planned—the equivalent of 10 full tanks at its compound. TEPCO aims to carry out four rounds of water discharge by next March.
